The Arsenal starting lineup is out and Mikel Arteta has provided a couple of surprises.
Jurrien Timber is on the bench so wasn’t fit enough to start with Cristhian Mosquera in at right back. Piero Hincapie starts over Riccardo Calafiori in a big call.
Another big decision is up top, as Kai Havertz starts over Viktor Gyokeres which suggests Arsenal will sit a little deeper.
Myles Lewis-Skelly starts in midfield with Martin Zubimendi on the bench, while Martin Odegaard starts over Eberechi Eze. Those moves are a bit more defensive and again points to this being a pragmatic, defensive setup from Arteta.
Having Timber, Calafiori, Madueke, Eze, Gyokeres, Martinelli, Jesus and Merino on the bench is pretty incredible squad depth.
