This marks the first time in the nation’s history that the team have reached a World Cup quarterfinal, a stunning turnaround for a side that had gone 28 years without qualifying for the tournament. Stale Solbakken’s group got here by beating Ivory Coast in the round of 32 and then stunning five-time champions Brazil 2-1 in the round of 16 with Erling Haaland cementing his Norwegian legacy already.
