Blog | Everything You Need To Know
More than two and a half years after Palworld first launched in early access in January 2024, Pocketpair’s creature-collecting survival hit has now reached its full 1.0 release.
A lot has changed since those early days. Palworld has received careful tweaks, major overhauls, new content, fresh systems, and plenty of balancing work, all of which has helped shape the game’s full launch on PC and consoles.
From the full release date to the biggest gameplay changes, PC specifications, and the latest trailer, here’s everything you need to know about Palworld 1.0.
Palworld 1.0 Release Date
Palworld launches into 1.0 on July 10, 2026. The full release is available on PC via Steam and the Microsoft Store, Mac via the Mac App Store, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. A Nintendo Switch 2 version has not yet been confirmed.
If you already bought Palworld during early access, you’ll receive the Palworld 1.0 update at no extra cost.
Palworld 1.0 Gameplay
For the uninitiated, Palworld blends open-world exploration, survival crafting, combat, and creature collection into one colourful, chaotic adventure.
At its heart, Palworld’s gameplay loop is built around three main pillars: base building, survival crafting, and exploration-driven combat.
The first is base building and Pal automation. Pals are much more than cute companions that fight at your side. Depending on their strengths and weaknesses, they can be assigned to all sorts of tasks, including crafting, gathering resources, farming, transporting materials, and keeping production lines running.
The second major pillar is survival crafting. Players gather raw materials, treasures, and other useful resources, then turn them into weapons, structures, tools, armour, and gadgets. As you progress, deeper technology tiers open up, giving you access to more ambitious equipment and stronger ways to survive.
Finally, there’s exploration and combat. Palworld gives players plenty of ways to move through its colourful world, whether that means swimming, climbing, riding across the land, or taking to the skies with special Pal mounts. Combat plays out in real time, mixing melee weapons, firearms, and Pal abilities into fast, often unpredictable battles.
Palworld 1.0: What’s New in the Full Release?
Since Palworld first entered early access in January 2024, Pocketpair has made numerous changes to the game and added a substantial amount of new content along the way.
With the game still holding an “Overwhelmingly Positive” rating on Steam at the time of writing, it’s fair to say that many of those changes have been well received by players.
With that in mind, here are some of the biggest additions and improvements included in Palworld 1.0.
New Territories and Endgame Content
Ever since Palworld launched into early access, the World Tree has loomed in the distance, locked behind an energy barrier and completely inaccessible.
That changes with Palworld 1.0. The World Tree now plays a major role in the game’s endgame content, giving players a new high-level area to explore once they’re ready for a much tougher challenge.
Before reaching that endgame zone, players can also explore the new Sky Islands, which float above the Palpagos Islands. These new areas introduce fresh environments to traverse, new Pals to discover, and more vertical exploration than ever before.
New Pals and Combat Mechanics
Palworld 1.0 also brings a new selection of Pals to collect, train, and put to work.
The Paldeck has expanded with fresh additions such as the Sky Dragon, Sword Eel, Tree Guardian, and Giant Whale. These new Pals shake up both exploration and combat, with some offering unusual new ways to interact with the world.
One especially eye-catching example is the Sword Eel, which can reportedly be wielded by the player like an improvised broadsword. It’s exactly the sort of strange, slightly unhinged idea that Palworld tends to make feel completely natural.
Major Gameplay Improvements
Alongside new content, Palworld 1.0 also brings substantial improvements to core gameplay systems.
One of the biggest additions is Genetic Recombination, a new feature that expands the breeding loop by allowing players to combine genes from Legendary Pals. The result should be more powerful, more distinctive Pals with unique traits that can dramatically change how they perform.
Boss encounters have also been given a shake-up. Existing Tower Bosses have been updated with new attack patterns and more complex, mechanic-driven phases, while entirely new bosses have also been added. In other words, even veteran players may need to rethink a few old strategies.
Palworld 1.0 also gives the game’s story more structure. New story-based missions help pull the wider narrative together while adding more lore around the islands themselves.
Base builders, meanwhile, have another reason to be excited: Palworld 1.0 lets players build massive offshore structures out on the ocean, opening up new possibilities for large-scale construction.
The New Wing Pack
One of the most exciting new additions in Palworld 1.0 is the Wing Pack.
This new item lets players soar through the skies and glide through valleys in a way that simply wasn’t possible before. It also ties directly into exploration, giving players a new way to reach the Sky Islands and move across Palworld’s expanded map.
Cross-Platform Play and Feature Parity
Palworld 1.0 supports cross-platform play across PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S, meaning players on those platforms can team up together.
Pocketpair has also confirmed that all versions of Palworld 1.0 will have feature parity. In short, when one platform receives new content or features, every supported platform should receive them too. As it should be.
Palworld 1.0 PC Specs
With its colourful environments, detailed Pals, busy bases, and large-scale action, you might expect Palworld 1.0 to demand a hefty PC.
Happily, the requirements are fairly reasonable. Most decent gaming PCs from the last several years should be able to run Palworld 1.0 without too much trouble.
