Live updates: Democrats Francesca Hong and David Crowley locked in tight race for Wisconsin governor


While we’re still waiting on results in crucial races, here’s a quick recap of the contests where CNN’s Decision Desk has made projections:

In Wisconsin

• Businesswoman Rebecca Cooke will win the Democratic primary in the 3rd Congressional District, setting up a rematch with incumbent Republican Rep. Derrick Van Orden for the battleground seat.

Michael Alfonso, the son-in-law of Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy, will win the Republican primary in the 7th District.

• US Rep. Tom Tiffany will win the GOP primary for governor, as Republicans seek to flip the governorship in the battleground state. He will face the winner of the hotly contested Democratic primary between Francesca Hong and David Crowley.

In Connecticut

• Former Hartford Mayor Luke Bronin will win the Democratic nomination in the 1st District, defeating 14-term Rep. John Larson.

• Incumbent Gov. Ned Lamont will win the Democratic gubernatorial primary, fending off a progressive challenger in his bid for a rare third term.

In Minnesota

• Former NFL sideline reporter Michele Tafoya will win the GOP Senate nomination,in a primary that split national and local Republicans.

• Sen. Amy Klobuchar will handily win the Democratic nomination for governor.

In South Carolina

Sen. Darline Graham and Rep. Ralph Norman will advance to a runoff in the Palmetto state’s special Republican primary to replace the late Sen. Lindsey Graham on November’s ballot. Loyalty to President Donald Trump will likely be a flashpoint in the contest.

In Vermont

Incumbent Gov. Phil Scott will once again win the Republican nomination in the gubernatorial primary as he seeks a sixth term.
