LOS ANGELES (KABC) — California election results are coming in as voters wait for outcomes in the L.A. mayoral race leading to a possible faceoff between Karen Bass and Spencer Pratt, and the governor’s race with polls showing Xavier Becerra leading the race with Steve Hilton and Tom Steyer trailing behind.

California gubernatorial candidate Antonio Villaraigosa concedes race
California gubernatorial candidates Antonio Villaraigosa conceded the race after early returns showed him with 1% of the vote.
In a statement, Villaraigosa said the election did not turn out the way he had hoped and offered his congratulations to the candidates that will move onto the general election in November.
“I ran for one reason: I love this state, and I know what’s possible when leaders refuse to accept that things are broken. As Mayor of Los Angeles, we made it the safest big city in America, turned around failing schools, and built the greenest port in the country,” he continued in his statement.

Xavier Becerra and Steve Hilton neck and neck in CA governor’s race
With over 30% of the expected votes in, Democrat Xavier Becerra and Republican Steve Hilton are neck and neck in the race for California governor.
With 38% of the expected vote in about 30 minutes after the polls closed, Hilton was leading with 26.2% of the votes. Becerra was right behind him with 26% if the votes, followed by Tom Steyer at 20% and Chad Bianco at 12%.
All of the remaining contestants had less than 10% of the vote.

1st look at election results in LA mayor race
We are getting a first look at election results for the Los Angeles mayor race.
With 39 percent of the expected vote counted, incumbent L.A. Mayor Karen Bass is leading the pack at 38%, followed by Spencer Pratt at 28% and Nithya Raman at 20%.

Steve Hilton takes early lead in race for CA governor
When the first round of election results in the California governor’s race dropped around 8:20 p.m. Tuesday, Republican candidate Steve Hilton was leading with 29% of the vote.
At the time, only 17% of the votes were in. A larger portion of results, including some of the vote-by-mail ballot results, are expected at 8:30 p.m.
With 6% of the votes in, Xavier Becerra was behind Hilton with 25% of the vote, followed by Tom Steyer with 19% and Chad Bianco at 12%
