If you’re looking to dive into a new hobby for the new year, or you’re already thinking about upgrading your setup, then this Bambi Lab 3D printer must be on your January shortlist. The Bambu Lab P1S is 43% off right now, bringing the price back down to below $400 for 2026.
There’s a huge advantage to the Bambu Lab P1S, especially compared to several of its budget-friendly rivals, and it’s the assembly. As our review shows, the P1S arrives semi-assembled, making it easy to get it working out-of-the-box, with features like automatic bed leveling and easy-to-apply presets in the slicer software making it more approachable for beginners.
The P1S comes with a fully enclosed print environment, making it a good option for high-temperature prints, with a max build volume of 256 x 256 x 256 mm. That’s a pretty large bed size for a budget-friendly printer, even if it isn’t the largest out there. The bed itself is made from a textured PEI spring steel sheet, which should help with finished print removals.
It also uses a proprietary 0.4mm nozzle attached to a direct drive extruder. A direct drive extruder offers better pressure control while printing, helping to improve print accuracy, even when it’s printing fast — no wasted filament here. Fast is the key word, too, thanks to the P1S’ 20000 mm/s² acceleration limit.
The Bambu Lab P1S features plenty of wireless options for remote printing, offering Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity. You can also load your print models directly using the microSD card slot, with the built-in LED screen and controls allowing you to navigate the various options and settings. There’s even a built-in timelapse camera to help you watch the full print from start to finish.
While its successor, the P2S, has stolen its crown on our best 3D printer guide, the P1S is still a brilliant option for either a beginner or seasoned pro to consider. Bambu Lab stock continues to be low after the holiday season, so don’t expect this incredible $399 P1S 3D printer to be in stock for long.
